Responsible for providing overall leadership management and general technical direction of the entire program, ensuring an integrated vision among different components, functions and stakeholders, and a focus on achieving the results defined in the contract.

What You Should Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree essential, MBA (or Master’s) would be preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience working in project management and design in developing countries, preferably including experience in the state or country to which you will be assigned.
  • At least 5 years of management experience, including direct supervision of professional and support staff and assembling teams working in multi-faceted roles including field based roles.

Director, Policy& Partnerships

Oversee an entire program’s large-scale, government-led, system- wide education transformation within all new locations.

What You Should Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with superior academic performance.
  • Over 4 years’ experience in government program delivery or working in account management or as an engagement manager.
  • In depth experience building and systematically managing key complex relationships and accounts to ensure program delivery in a complex, multi-stakeholder program or project.
  • Previous experience working with a Ministry of Education on program delivery, preferred; If not within education, experience with another government delivery program or project, such as in health or ICT.

Director, Communications

As Director, Communications, you will be the communications lead for a large scale government education programme. You will support the government in the creation and delivery of communications strategies and ensure that the programme is being communicated effectively to a wide range of stakeholders both at a statewide, national and international level. You will be able to leverage relationships to influence communications approaches and build strong advocacy platforms to further the aims and ambitions of the work. You will create, write and design content that is both compelling and impactful; that places your programme at the core of the group communications strategy.

What you will do

  • Manage the communications for a statewide government education programme.

Regional Schools Manager

   What you will do

  • Work closely with a large group of Schools Supervisors in your territory to ensure that they are operating at the highest levels.
  • Work closely with the Training Manager to ensure feedback from the field is translated to effective training content, systems and processes which further empower Teachers and Headmasters to lead successful schools.
  • Empower Schools Supervisors to focus intensely on instructional leadership, including each teacher completing the scheduled lessons each day; on positive classroom and school management without corporal punishment; and school strength through retention, which is a sign of parents’ belief in the positive contribution of the school. 
  • Provide management oversight to Schools Supervisors in your region or territory and ensure operating performance and instructional learning targets are met.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to Schools Supervisors in your region to help develop their management skills and support achievement of their academy goals.
  • Regional Managers completely own (and therefore, are accountable for) the performance metrics of all of the schools in their territory, as measured by operational and instructional benchmarks.
  • This role requires a constant presence at the schools and close interaction with each School Head or School Administrator to ensure that there is continuous bi-directional communication and coaching.
  • In addition to interactions with schools, you will be expected to build close relationships with the local and state level government officials, the traditional and local community leaders, and Parents of the children in the school to promote the importance of education, garner support for the school and education ministry’s activities as it relates to their children and to keep a constant monitor on their feedback.
  • Must be ready to travel on a daily basis to schools in your region. The schools are situated in various communities across your territory to which you are assigned.

Director, Schools Inspection 

The School Inspection Director will lead a team of School Inspection Supervisors who in turn manage a large field team of School Inspection Associates. The primary audit focus for School Inspection is the entire ecosystem of the Schools Department, which includes all aspects of school management, school materials, school personnel, school hardware, and any other action that is part of our overall performance. 

What you will do

  • Establish School Inspection Procedures. The School Inspection Director is responsible for creating and implementing School Inspection procedures and methodologies after deeply understanding our processes. The School Inspection Director will measure, monitor, and analyse current processes, make recommendations for improvement and develop new solutions to enhance quality control. The School Inspection Director will use and continually improve the core audits and best practices already in place.
  • Manage School Inspection staff:  The School Inspection Director will lead the School Inspection team of supervisors & associates. This includes training them on new or revised procedures and systems; supervising them during the School Inspection process to ensure that they are correctly utilizing School Inspection methods and systems; and also supporting them as they monitor corrective actions implemented by other departments for critical/major and minor nonconformities, ensuring that actions are effective, implemented in a timely manner, and are permanent in nature to avoid recurrence of deficiencies.
  • Report Quality Issues to Schools and Operations Department Leaders & lead with ensuring rapid resolution. To support teaching and learning activities, the School Inspection Director will ensure there is rapid , clear visibility of audit results always visible to the Schools Department, and for relevant audits, for Operations, including Supply Chain and IT, as well as People. The data from the School Inspection audits is only worth collecting if it is rapidly visible and used to drive decision-making and correct any lapses or errors. Responsibilities also include ensuring that issues reported by School Inspections capture all the necessary data required for action by other teams and are assigned to the right team for resolution. Where systemic issues are made visible, the School Inspection Director is to work with other teams and the MD to identify such issues and any bottlenecks in the resolution process. 
  • Maintain School Inspection Records. The School Inspection Director will maintain detailed records ofSchool Inspection activities and issues. These reports provide comprehensive records of School Inspection activities and help the organisation determine what’s working and what needs to be corrected.This includes management of the School Inspection field team, ensuring integrity in data collection.
  • Analyze Data Outputs & Create Quality Control Reports. The School Inspection Director will support and enhance the organisation’s performance by analyzing and assessing audit data. In this aspect of the role, the School Inspection Director finds patterns and areas for improvements based on School Inspection data over time and utilizes these reports to improve processes and performance. The School Inspection Director determines whether their teams meet targets, deliver expected performance, and maintain overall workflow. This data must be provided rapidly to drive decisions in real time.
  • For any project, be ready to propose a plan and execute. This includes creating a timeline, liaising with other departments to get the support you need, managing performance and motivating staff members, figuring out how to get things done when things don’t go as planned, getting the data you need and getting it right, conducting analyses, framing the results, and answer any and all questions about your work.
  • Lead and provide technical expertise during engagements with the government School Inspection partners which will include:
  • leading meetings with the government partner and writing periodic reports; identifying & anticipating challenges / bottlenecks in the collaboration with the government partner and partnering with the MD and Policy & Partnership team to address these.
